Your best benefit as a Student Member is the opportunity to apply for a Student Travel Grant.
The grant is available for you to attend a Biochemical Society Focused Meeting, Workshop, Annual Symposium, Young Life Scientists' Symposium or a Biochemical Society- supported Independent Meeting.
The application is an easy, online process.
The maximum grant available for a Focused Meeting or Annual Symposium is £150 in the UK and £250 overseas.
For an Independent Meeting sponsored by the Society the maximum grant available is £50.
- Students can apply for a Student Travel Grant if they are a member of the Society by the closing date for poster abstract submission for the particular event they wish to attend.
- If you apply for a Student Travel Grant to attend a meeting you must submit a poster abstract for presentation at the meeting.
- Students may only apply for one Student Travel Grant in any year.
- Eligibility for Student Members extends to PhD graduates for 2 years after graduation and to overseas Student Members in respect of travel in the UK and the Republic of Ireland.
