The AstraZeneca Award

This award, generously supported by AstraZeneca, is made every 3 years in recognition of outstanding work which, through biomedical advances, leads to development of a new reagent or method. The research should have been carried out in a UK or Republic of Ireland laboratory.

The awardee receives an honorarium of £2000 and is asked to give a presentation at a Biochemical Society conference. The lecture is published in Biochemical Society Transactions.

In 2013, the AstraZeneca Award will be presented to Alec Jeffreys (University of Leicester, UK) at the 74th Harden Conference - Helicases and nucleic acid translocases, 4—8 August 2013, Robinson College, Cambridge, UK.
