Translation UK (Satellite Meeting to BioScience2005)

21—23 July 2005

Western Infirmary, Glasgow, UK

Translation UK will bring together experts in the field to discuss the latest developments in research of all aspects of gene expression control at the levels of protein synthesis and mRNA turnover.

Each session will feature oral presentations from invited international speakers and those selected from abstracts submitted. A poster presentation session will provide an opportunity for delegates to present work that cannot be accommodated within the oral programme.

The oral sessions will feature presentations on ribosome and translation factor structure and interactions, translation mechanisms, regulation of translation factors, translational control in development and disease, and control of translation by mRNA turnover.

Translation UK will be a 'satellite meeting' to immediately follow the Biochemical Society's annual flagship meeting - BioScience2005. BioScience2005 will feature two additional sessions on translation and its control and will include the presentation of the Jubilee Lecture by Richard Jackson (Cambridge, UK).

Proceedings of invited speakers will be published in Biochemical Society Transactions
