Online registration is now closed.
Proceedings (invited speakers) will be published in Biochemical Society Transactions
Oral communication slots are available at this meeting. All attendees, particularly researchers in the early stages of their career, are invited to submit a poster abstract for consideration as an oral communication.
Student Travel Grants are available for this meeting.
The archaea constitute a separate domain of life, distinct from bacteria, with many aspects of their biology closer to eukaryotes. Archaea have been adopted as a model system for studies on eukaryotes as well as being of very considerable interest in their own right. Many archaea inhabit extreme environments, and the mechanisms of adaptation are uniquely fascinating and important, with many biotechnological and industrial applications. Increasingly, archaea are recognised as an important and abundant component of the biosphere. This meeting will focus on archaeal DNA replication, recombination and repair, genetics and gene regulation. It will highlight recent advances in the field with implications for our understanding of archaeal molecular biology and the evolution of eukaryotic information processing pathways.
Poster Prizes
There will be two poster prizes associated with this meeting. All poster presenters are welcome to enter the competitions, which will be judged during the poster sessions.

The Biochemical Journal Poster Prize
The Biochemical Journal is kindly sponsoring a Young Investigator Award to be presented for the best poster displayed at the meeting. The winner will receive a host of Biochemical Journal goodies and a cheque for 300. The Biochemical Journal Poster Prize has been received by Nuno Peixeiro at the Institut Pasteur in France.

Molecular Microbiology journal Poster Prize
Molecular Microbiology is keen to support the microbiology research community and will award a 300 prize and a free one year subscription for the best poster at the Molecular Biology of Archaea meeting. The Molecular Microbiology journal Poster Prize has been received by Silvia Berkner at the University of Bayreuth.
