Ambleside
The picturesque campus of University of Cumbria lies within the town of Ambleside, one of the most beautiful towns in the Lake District, Cumbria.
The Ambleside campus is located on the north side of the village in attractively landscaped gardens.
With the arrival of the railway and the steam yachts came the development of tourism which still thrives today. This spectacular scenery has inspired academics and students of the day including many famous writers and poets - such as William Wordsworth, John Ruskin and Beatrix Potter, who became a true conservationist of the area.
