Meeting
Toll-Like Receptors have emerged as key regulators of innate immunity, recognizing and responding to microbial products such as LPS, CpG, DNA and peptidoglycan. Some may also respond to endogenous factors released during inflammation, and TLRs may by involved in the pathogenesis of inflammatory diseases. This is a very fast-moving area, with new discoveries being made in relation to ligand identification, signal transduction and the role of TLRs in host defense. There is a growing interest in TLRs in the pharmaceutical sector, not only because of the role of TLRs in inflammation, but also because of their roles in dendritic cell function and adjuvancy.
