University of Liverpool

Liverpool is situated on the north-west coast of Britain, just over two hundred miles from the UK capital, London. The University of Liverpool is situated a few minutes from the heart of the City Centre. The University was one of the first civic universities in the United Kingdom and dates back more than a century.

Liverpool has many attractions for visitors including The Beatles Story, Liverpool Museum, Tate Liverpool, Merseyside Maritime Museum, The Albert Dock, and the River Mersey.

The surrounding area of Liverpool has many other scenic areas to visit, these include the coastal resort of Southport, the Wirral peninsula and the City of Chester.


Travelling to Liverpool

By Air
Liverpool John Lennon Airport (+44 (0)151 288 4000) is situated 7 miles south-east of Liverpool City Centre and just 5 minutes from the nearby motorway network.
Merseytravel (+44 (0)870 608 2608) run an express coach service (500) from the airport to City Centre.
ARRIVA (+44 (0)8705 275 123) run buses from the airport (bus no.'s 80A and 82A) to Liverpool City Centre.

Manchester Airport is located approximately 30 miles from Liverpool.
National Express coach services link Manchester Airport with Liverpool City Centre approximately every hour (journey time 45 minutes).
There is also a frequent direct rail link between Manchester Airport and Liverpool City Centre (journey time 1 and a half hours).

By Car
Merseyside has excellent motorway connections and can be reached quickly and easily from all parts of the country. From the M6, the city is easily reached via the M58, M56 and M62 motorways.

Liverpool City Centre is approximately 45 minutes drive from Chester, Manchester and North Wales; just over 1 hour from Blackpool, the Lake District, Yorkshire Moors and the Peak District National Parks and just over 4 hours from London.

By Rail
Intercity services run from major towns and cities into Liverpool Lime Street Station. Journey times are quick; London to Liverpool takes just over 2 and a half hours. Rail links are also available to other parts of Merseyside.

Within Merseyside an extensive Merseyrail network system provides a fast and cheap way of getting around the region.

By Coach
There are good express connections to Liverpool from most towns and cities in Britain (to Liverpool there are half hourly services from Manchester, hourly services from York and every two hours from London and Birmingham), plus international routes from Amsterdam, Brussels and Paris. There are also more limited national services from Southport and Birkenhead.

By Sea
Isle of Man Steam Packet Company operates a ferry service between Douglas and Liverpool. Services depart every Saturday throughout the year, and more frequently during the summer months. Journey times vary between 2 and a half hours to 4 hours depending on the vessel. From Southern Ireland, Seacat operate a service from Dublin to Liverpool, journey time under 4 hours. Has my abstract been accepted?

After abstract submission you should have received a unique control number to identify your abstract. If you submitted an abstract but did not receive a control number, then please email meetings@biochemistry.org. Approximately 2 weeks after the abstract submission deadline has passed, you will receive an email informing you whether your poster has been accepted.

In particular, the spelling of names and affiliations should be checked, as this information will be used to create badges.

Confirmation letters also act as a receipt, and should also contain venue maps and delegate information. Please bring the letter with you to the conference.

Refunds


Cancellations will be accepted in writing until Thursday 17 April, and up until this date full refunds will be given. However, after this date, neither full nor partial refunds can be given.
