Travel to Dublin by air
Dublin Airport is located about 12km north of Dublin City Centre. It is well serviced by buses and taxis.
Ryanair operates flights from many European cities to Dublin. They tend to be very cheap if booked far enough in advance.
Aer Lingus operates flights from some American and Canadian cities also.
Getting from the airport
By taxi There is a taxi rank located outside the arrivals terminal. Taxis to Dublin city centre will cost approximately 30 and to University College Dublin 40.
By bus There are six bus services operating directly from outside the terminal building.
The regular bus service (numbers 41/41A/41B/41C) takes about 45 minutes to reach the city centre. The regular buses terminate in the city centre at Eden Quay on the river Liffey.
There is also an Airport Express coach service Airlink. Airlink Number 747 will bring you to the central bus station (Busaras) from which coaches depart to all parts of the country. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes.
All of the above bus and coach services are operated by Dublin Bus. Aircoach runs air-conditioned coaches between Dublin Airport and Ballsbridge, via the city centre, servicing many hotels and B&Bs. The service leaves the airport from stop number 5 every 20 minutes between 05.00 and 00.00, and every hour from midnight to 05.00. The journey takes about 45 minutes and a return ticket costs 12.
The stop required for the UCD campus is the "Montrose Hotel". Delegates should alight the coach, cross the road and enter the UCD campus. Walk towards the reception booth, turn right and follow signs to the Veterinary Centre. The Conway Institute is located down the hill to the right of the Veterinary Centre.
