Working in collaboration with the acclaimed Islington Community Theatre we have produced three drama projects aimed at reaching our remit through a different media. The projects are built around "hard to teach" biomolecular topics, with the aim of communicating the science and encouraging discussion amongst young people on the associated ethical issues.

The Darwin Project

Starting in 2009, the Darwin Project was our first foray into the world of drama. A collaborative project with Islington Community Theatre, in particular their youth group, lead to a play based on evolution entitled "Hive 9".

The Embryonic Project

A series of workshops with the Islington Youth Theatre, built around exploring the issues around stem cell research and it's impact on society. The workshops led to four short plays performed by members of the youth theatre at Charles Darwin House in 2010.

Little Miracles

A play by written by award winning playwright Joy Wilkinson. The play has been developed from the workshops and short plays created as part of the Embryonic project, developed from working with students aged 11-21, professional playwrights and young directors.
