Scientific Meetings and Training Events

The Biochemical Society provides an extensive range of events, including scientific conferences, training events, outreach activities, medal lectures, and policy and education events.  This programme provides an excellent opportunity to magnify your research by submitting an abstract for an oral communication or poster presentation, and sharing your work with the wider molecular biosciences community.

Shaping your career in molecular biosciences: taking a wider view

This half-day event is open to anyone looking to progress their career in molecular bioscience.


Participants will have the opportunity to attend sessions on a range of topics, including:

·         Marketing yourself to different audiences

·         Mapping your job applications based on the advert and criteria

·         Moving between academia and industry

·         What skills you can gain on an internship or placement


The event follows the Young Life Scientists’ Symposium (YLS) on Molecular Neuropharmacology in Health & Wellbeing on 15 November.

YLS delegates are eligible to a 10% discount on fees for this event. Please contact YLS organisers or Biochemical Society Conferences for details.


Grants and Bursaries

The Biochemical Society offers a programme of grants and bursaries supporting research, attendance at scientific conferences and the sponsorship of events.
