The Society’s Conference Department is launching a series of new initiatives for 2013 to provide support for scientists with young families and women in science.

The bursaries intend to facilitate members to ‘stay connected’ with the latest research whilst on a period of parental leave or with a young child, where there is no other funding available. Successful applicants will receive free registration and/or free accommodation for a child care provider. Bursaries are available for a Biochemical Society Focused Meeting, Annual Symposium or Harden Conference.

  • Applicants must be on maternity/paternity leave at the time of the conference or supporting the attendance of a partner to provide childcare support.
  • Applicants must be a member of the Biochemical Society by the early registration deadline.
  • Applications must be received by the event early registration deadline.
  • Applicants must submit a reference letter from their institution confirming the status of leave, and the relevance of the event.
  • A short personal statement must be completed.

How to apply?

Applications will be done through ReviewRoom. If you do not have a ReviewRoom account, you will need to set one up. Once you have signed up, you will receive an email with a link to follow in order to continue.
