The Biochemical Society regularly responds to consultation requests from Government and other organisations, as an individual body and through the Society of Biology. Consultation responses provide an excellent opportunity to ensure that the concerns of the molecular bioscience community are heard. It's here that you can find out which consultations we are currently responding to. If you've got an opinion on any of the documents below and want to make sure that it's heard, or just have a question about a consultation, please email: Catherine.Ball@biochemistry.org
We are keen to hear your opinion and all comments are read and appreciated. Please note that we will not include your name/affiliation in a response without your explicit permission.
Information on selected consultations are emailed directly to the Society's Database of Expertise; click here for more information and a joining webform.
Current Consultations
We are not currently responding to any consultations.
We recently assisted the Society of Biology in the production of a sector-wide response to the Triennial Review of the Research Councils, Refreshing the BBSRC Strategic Plan, the RCUK call for clarifications on the revised guidance on Open Access and the HEFCE call for advice on open access in the post-2014 REF. The Society of Biology maintains a more comprehensive list of open consultations that may affect the broader bioscience sector.
