There is also a city bus which stops at the bus and train stations and the southern end of campus (near the back of Leeds General Infirmary A&E) every 10 minutes from 6:30 - 19.30 Monday to Saturday.

At the final stage of the online registration process, all registered delegates will be directed to a confirmation page and receive a separate email to confirm registration details. In particular, the spelling of names and affiliations should be checked, as this information will be used to create badges.
Confirmation emails also act as a receipt. Please bring a copy of the email with you to the meeting.

Registering at the meeting
Please bring your confirmation email to present at the registration desk at the meeting. Badges will be issued upon registering and, for security reasons, must be worn for the duration of the meeting.
The maximum bursary available for a Focused Meeting or Annual Symposium is £200 in the UK and £300 overseas.
For an Independent Meeting sponsored by the Society the maximum bursary available is £100.
- Students can apply for a Student Bursary if they are a member of the Society by the closing date for poster abstract submission for the particular event they wish to attend.
- If you apply for a Student Bursary to attend a meeting you must submit a poster abstract for presentation at the meeting.
- Students may only apply for one Student Bursary in any year.
How to apply:
The online registration form for the meeting should be completed along with the Student Bursary Application Form.
Subject to approval, applicants will receive a bank transfer of the appropriate amount of funds after the meeting. Payment of funds will be initiated within 10 working days after the last day of the meeting. Please note that overseas payments might take longer to reach the recipient's account.
The maximum amount for travel expenses that will be reimbursed will be at the level of the current Young Persons Railcard fare. If the application does not use up the full amount of the Bursary, the balance cannot be transferred to another meeting. Please note that you may apply for a bursary at the Registration Desk, or up to four weeks after the meeting.

Abstract submission guidelines
The maximum number of words allowed in your abstract is 230 words. This does not include the title, authors and affiliations.
The preferred method for submission is to type your abstract straight into the online submission form using the buttons on the form to add special characters or formatting. However it is also possible to paste text from a word-processed document as long as formatting and special characters are added via the buttons on the online submission form.
Please do not include tables, figures or references as these will be removed before your abstract is published.
Has my abstract been accepted?
After submitting your abstract you should receive a submission number which will identify your abstract. If you have not received a submission number, then please contact the Conference Office.
Approximately 2 weeks after the abstract submission deadline has passed, you will receive an email informing you whether your poster has been accepted or not and informing you of your poster number and session time.
All poster abstracts will be available to view online two weeks prior to the meeting.
Poster Board size: 1m wide x 2m high (portrait).
Velcro to mount your poster will be provided at the meeting.
The Biochemical Society is working with the new open access poster repository, F1000 Posters, to host online the posters from this event. Authors will be asked if they wish to deposit a PDF of their poster presentation(s) from this meeting once their abstract has been accepted.
Faculty of 1000 is expanding its award-winning post-publication literature evaluation service by including evaluations of posters from across the major life science and medical conferences. The Faculty of ~10,000 world-renowned experts will be regularly reviewing new posters deposited in F1000 Posters for selection and evaluation in F1000. The selection of poster PDFs for evaluation will bring the attention of a much wider audience than can be achieved by attending a single conference.
Biochemical Society Poster Prize
A Biochemical Society Poster Prize of £200 will be awarded to the best poster presented at this meeting by a researcher in the early stages of their career (post-graduate or first post-doctoral position).
The Biochemical Society Poster Prize was awarded to Peter Tessarz (University of Cambridge, Cambridge, United Kingdom) for his poster entitled "Methylation of histone H2A Q105 regulates FACT accessibility to chromatin".
Biochemical Society Transactions Oral Communication Prize
A Biochemical Society Transactions oral communication prize of £200 will be awarded to the best oral communication presented at this meeting.
The Biochemical Society Transactions oral communication prize was won by Catherine Rose (University of Edinburgh, Edinburgh, United Kingdom) for her talk entitled "Investigating germ line epigenetic reprogramming in the rat".
Registration does NOT include accommodation. Lunches and refreshments are included in the registration fee, along with the conference dinner on the 12 December 2012.

A free public lecture will be held during the Annual Symposium: Epigenetic mechanisms in development and disease. The lecture entitled "Epigenetics – creating new medicines from the missing link between nature and nurture" will be given by Nessa Carey (Pfizer, United Kingdom) and is open to anyone who would like to attend.
The lecture will take place on Tuesday 11 December at 19:00-20:00 and will take place in the Conference Auditorium which is located at number 100 on the campus map.

Official letters of invitation, which are intended to assist with administrative arrangements in certain countries will only be issued when the individual has completed the following criteria:
1) Submitted an abstract which has been approved by the meeting scientific organizer for inclusion into the relevant meeting
2) Sent a letter from the head of their academic department on University headed paper saying why they need to attend the meeting in relation to their research
3) Registered and paid for the meeting
Such letters do not imply commitment of financial or other support by the organizers

Proceedings and abstracts of Harden Conferences and Hot Topic Events are unpublished, in order to promote the exchange of novel information and ideas. Delegates are asked to respect the closed nature of the conferences, and not to report information discussed via Twitter, Facebook, blogs and similar social networks.
Focused Meetings, Workshops and Annual Symposia
The Biochemical Society encourages the discussion of its conferences via Twitter, Facebook and similar social networks. In order to promote discussion and the exchange of information, delegates who wish to tweet are asked to use the Biochemical Society hashtag:
Speakers will be made aware of this policy, and have the right to ask delegates not to disseminate their research via the Internet. If a Speaker makes this request, delegates are asked not to discuss the relevant work in this way. Delegates are respectfully asked to refrain from communicating using mobile devices whilst lectures are in progress.
Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
Annual Symposium: Epigenetic mechanisms in development and disease has been approved for the purposes of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) by the Society of Biology. Participants can claim 54 credits for attending. These points are valid if attendees are registered on the Society of Biology CPD scheme. Approval signifies that the Society of Biology recognizes the Annual Symposium: Epigenetic mechanisms in development and disease event is of merit to the development needs of participants. Attendees can request a CPD certificate for this conference whilst completing the post event feedback questionnaire, which will be sent by email to all attendees shortly after the event.
