Why not help us to fill in the gaps in our meetings programme by proposing a Focused Meeting?

Five easy steps to organizing a Focused Meeting:

  1. Select a date

Have a look at our meetings timetable to see when there are available slots.

  2. Submit a proposal

Once you have decided when you would like to have meeting, please read the guidelines, complete a proposal form and submit it to the Meetings Board for consideration. The Meetings Board meet 3 times a year. Check the web page for deadlines for submission of proposals.

  3. Meet the Meetings team

If you proposal is accepted, a member of the Meetings Office staff will meet you to discuss the logistical details regarding you meeting. Remember that full secretariat support is provided by the Biochemical Society.

  4. Invite speakers and seek sponsorship

After the Organizers meeting has taken place you will need to start inviting speakers and working towards your proposed sponsorship target. Please note, that although Meetings Office staff are happy to provide administrative support in generating sponsorship, it is proven that direct contact by the Organizer with Companies/Institutions is much more effective.

  5. Sit back, relax and enjoy the meeting

Once the speakers have been invited , the majority of the meeting organization is done by the Meetings Office, including registration, marketing and venue contact. You will of course have an input into all major decisions and be kept up to date on the meetings progress.
