Biochemical Society Event Proposals

The Biochemical Society’s events programme includes Harden Conferences, Scientific Meetings, as well as Training Events and Courses

We additionally support Young Life Scientists’ Symposia and Sponsored Events.

We welcome event proposals from any member of the scientific community, however please note that at least one member of the event Organizing Committee (Programme Coordinators) must be a Member of the Biochemical Society. You can find further information for Programme Coordinators here.

Submit your proposal

Event proposals are welcomed for scheduling throughout the year to complement the Society's vibrant events programme.

Next proposal deadlines are:

  • 1 May
  • 13 August
  • 5 November

Proposals submitted will be considered by Research Areas and/or Theme Panels (as appropriate) and then by Conferences Committee, or Education Committee for Training Events and Courses. Please note this process can take up to 8 weeks.

This is what our programme coordinators have to say:

“Thanks very much for all of your effort leading up to and during the conference. We couldn’t have done it without you!”

(Scientific Meeting 'Structural Aspects of Infectious Disease', August 2016).

“Thanks for all your hard work making the meeting a success. Everyone I spoke to at the meeting (a) thought it was really well organised and (b) was extremely envious of the level of support the Biochemical Society offers! I think they all wish they had such a good team supporting them for the conferences that they have to arrange.”

(Scientific meeting 'Protein S-Palmityolation', September 2016).
