ATP binding cassette transporters: from mechanism to organism

16—18 April 2015

University of Chester, UK

A Biochemical Society Focused Meeting

ABC transporters are one of the largest families of membrane proteins and their diverse functions underpin numerous key physiological processes, as well as being causative factors in a number of clinically relevant pathologies. This meeting will focus on the mechanisms of ABC transporters and how this is integral to their effects on organism and cell biology.

Topics

  • In vitro, in vivo and in silico analysis of membrane transporters
  • Genetics of ABC transporters
  • Functions and mechanisms of ABC transporters
  • Drug–transporter interactions
  • Structural biology of ABC transporters

Proceedings (invited speakers) will be published in Biochemical Society Transactions.

The winner of the Biochemical Society poster prize was awarded to Giorgos Guoridis - Conformational dynamics in substrate-binding domains influence transport kinetics of ABC importers

Abstract deadline: 16 February 2015.

Abstract submission has now closed. If you wish to submit an abstract, please contact the Conferences office (conferences@biochemistry.org).

Earlybird registration deadline: 18 March 2015.

Registration is now open.

Oral communication slots are available at this meeting. All attendees, particularly researchers in the early stages of their career, are invited to submit a poster abstract for consideration as an oral communication.

Poster abstracts can also be considered for the flash poster presentation.

Student Bursaries are available for this meeting.
