Engineering recombinant proteins for structural and functional studies 2022
Event dates: Thursday 10 November - Friday 11 November 2022 Venue: The Spine, Liverpool, L7 3FA Abstract deadline: 18 September 2022 Earlybird registration deadline: 18 September 2022 Please note this event is now full. Should you wish to join the waiting list please email conferences@biochemistry.org This two-day training event will discuss strategies to engineer sufficiently pure, homogenous and high-quality recombinant proteins that are critical for subsequent structural and functional studies. The event, aimed at early career researchers will cover the latest bioinformatic tools for construct design and protein characterisation, tips and tricks for improving protein expression, purification, stability/preparation and evaluating protein quality with biophysical techniques. The event will be interactive with opportunities to bring protein samples to characterise on some of the latest instrumentation/software and to present a poster on these topics. Invited trainers will include:
If interested, please submit an abstract for a poster that describes challenges or successes with protein expression, purification, characterisation from your current or past projects. As an alternative please submit an abstract for a poster that highlights your research system that may provoke discussion on protein production and characterisation challenges. Feel free to anonymise data to allow confidentiality and compliance with your organisation. There will be opportunities to bring or send samples and have them analysed by Dynamic Light Scattering, Mass Photometry, Mass Spectrometry and Thermal Denaturation. More information concerning this will be provided after registration. AccommodationAccommodation can be booked at the Novotel Liverpool Paddington Village for £95 per night.
