Single-molecule bacteriology online symposium

Wednesday 21 July 2021
ONLINE

Abstract deadline: 21 June 2021

Single-molecule imaging for bacteriology has revolutionized our ability to study molecular processes underlying bacterial functions, allowing us to view microbes with a new set of eyes through the applications of new fluorescent proteins and dyes, ultrasensitive microscopy, image-analysis techniques, and new microfluidics approaches. In anticipation of the 87th Harden Conference on Single-molecule bacteriology in 2022, we are hosting an online symposium this summer to bring together the community of researchers working in this field.

The focus of the symposium will be on research carried out by Early Career Researchers (ECR), including senior graduate students, postdoctoral fellows and pre-tenure PIs. The programme will present an opportunity for ECRs to showcase their work across the breadth of single-molecule bacteriology, from structural and mechanistic studies to new quantitative in vivo techniques applicable to bacteria, to studies of clinical, biomedical and biotechnological significance.

Programme Coordinators:
Achillefs Kapanidis, University of Oxford, UK
