Vacancy - Commissioning Assistant

The Biochemical Society/Portland Press are looking for an enthusiastic and driven individual to join the editorial team as Commissioning Assistant (a role similar to that of an Editorial/Publishing Assistant or Journal Specialist), supporting the Managing and Commissioning Editors. The successful candidate will maintain and improve the editorial system, manage assignment of manuscript duties to Editorial Board members, and work with the Editorial Board to commission potential review articles.

​Applicants must have a degree in the Biosciences or related field as well as interest and awareness of bioscience research. This position is ideal for graduates with broad scientific interests, looking for a career in scientific publishing. This is an opportunity to join a friendly and dynamic team, and build relationships with key stakeholders in the scientific community.

​Please note that the position is advertised as remote, however options are available for working within an office in London up to a few days per week, should that be preferred.
