Small G proteins of the Ras superfamily regulate a wide range of cellular processes. Their dysregulation contributes to numerous diseases, including cancer and infectious disorders. Ras, the founding member of this protein family, is implicated in approximately 20% of human cancers, making it an important therapeutic target.
This meeting will highlight cutting-edge research across the five families of small G proteins, fostering new ideas, collaborations, and scientific approaches. Topics will include the Ras family, which regulates cell growth and proliferation; the Rho family, which controls cytoskeletal dynamics; the Arf and Rab families, which govern vesicular trafficking; and the Ran family, which mediates nuclear transport.
The conference will bring together leading experts to discuss recent advances in our understanding of small G protein biology and function. It will provide an excellent opportunity for established investigators and early-career researchers alike to present their work, exchange ideas, and build new collaborations.
