Undergraduate Recognition Awards

Biochemical Society Undergraduate Recognition Awards are offered for institutions to award, at their discretion, to an outstanding undergraduate in any year of study.   

Applications must be made through your Local Ambassador and the student must be studying a course related to biochemistry or molecular bioscience.  

Please note Student Ambassadors are not eligible to apply for an Undergraduate Recognition Award.

Award Details 

  • £50 cash prize paid to the winning student 
  • One year free undergraduate or postgraduate membership of the Biochemical Society for the winning student 
  • A certificate for the winning student

Become an Ambassador

To be eligible to nominate: 

  • Applications must be made by a Biochemical Society Local Ambassador
  • The student must be an undergraduate currently studying a course related to biochemistry or molecular bioscience
  • There are no restrictions on year of study
  • Student Ambassadors are not eligible to apply for an Undergraduate Recognition Award.

Local Ambassadors can submit their nomination by emailing the Grants Department at any time throughout the academic year with the name of the nominated student, and a statement outlining why they should receive the award.  

Awards are issued on a first come, first serve basis and only one prize will be awarded per institution per year.
