We're delighted to announce that nominations for the Biochemical Society’s 2028 Awards are now open. Nominations are welcomed across 14 categories, spanning all career stages from early career researchers to senior scientists, educators, industry partners, support staff and teams.

All of our prestigious Awards offer a vast array of career enhancing prizes from monetary recognition, grants for relevant meeting or training events, publishing your work in a Biochemical Society journal, presenting at a Biochemical Society meeting or webinar, and opportunities to influence change by joining a Committee.

Our inclusive Awards programme strives to showcase achievements and empower voices from across the molecular biosciences. With accessibility in mind, eligibility for all our awards takes into consideration the time taken away from the lab on career breaks, allowing personal endeavour to shine through. We strongly encourage nominations that reflect the diversity of the community, and with our Awards programme open to all - you don’t have to be a member to nominate or be nominated!

Timeline for nominations

Submitting a nomination for the Biochemical Society Awards has never been easier; simply complete an initial nomination form outlining how your candidate meets the criteria before 2 November 2026.

Shortlisted nominators will then be contacted to provide the full nomination by 31 January 2027.
