Biochemistry Focus webinar series
60 mins
Following on from our popular webinar on AlphaFold2, Professor Dan Rigden returned to discuss how successive AlphaFold releases have revolutionised structure prediction of biomolecular systems.
AlphaFold 3 (AF3) is the state of the art in proteins and their complexes, and can also model bound ligands, post-translational modifications, nucleic acids, and heterogeneous complexes. The results can complement or even substitute experimental structures across many areas of biology but, as with all techniques, an understanding of the likely quality of models and an appreciation of any limitations are essential. This webinar covered how to obtain AF3 models, their strengths and occasional weaknesses and a selection of their many uses.
Invited Speaker:
- Professor Dan Rigden, University of Liverpool, UK

This webinar was chaired by Dr Claire Friel, University of Nottingham, UK.
