Emeritus Membership
Current long standing full members of the Society (of more than 10 years) may apply for emeritus membership upon retirement.
Emeritus membership costs just £32.5 for 1 year (or £88 for 3 years). Benefits of membership include:
- Discounted registration fees to attend our scientific events, training events and training courses.
- Access to a range of grants and bursaries after a period of continuous membership.
- Immediate access to Care and Assistance Grants and Stay Connected Bursaries.
- Invitations to attend member-only receptions and networking events.
- Opportunities to feed into science policy discussions through the Society’s Policy Network.
- Personal online access to the Biochemical Journal and Biochemical Society Transactions.
- Automatic membership of FEBS and access to FEBS Fellowships, and discounted membership to the Royal Society of Biology.
Note:
For many of our grants and bursaries, applicants are required to have been a member for at least 12 continuous months immediately prior to the deadline on the closing date of the round applied to. Members that join as multiyear members are eligible to apply for a grant after six months of continuous membership has elapsed.
