Professor Luciane Viera de Mello will be retiring as Training Theme Panel Chair from 31 December 2025. After serving in the role for 6 years we thank Luciane for her commitment during this time.

As part of her role she not only sat as a valued Trustee, but also as a member of our Conferences Committee, Education, Training, and Public Engagement Committee, and Chair of Training Theme Panel. Over the years she has helped to drive forward the Society’s strategy and aided the development of a high-quality programme of scientific meetings and training.

Professor Dame Julia Goodfellow, Society President said:

Her contributions to our education and training programmes have helped to develop a varied and exciting offering which we will continue into the future. We look forward to continuing to work with Luciane as we move towards the FEBS Congress in 2028, where she will be chairing the organising committee.
