Public Benefit Statement

The Trustees confirm that they have complied with the duty in Section 4 of the Charities Act 2011 to have due regard to the Charity Commission’s general guidance on public benefit “Charities and Public Benefit”. 

The Biochemical Society is UK’s largest learned society promoting the advancement of molecular bioscience. The Society’s activities support the development of individual and collective understanding of biochemistry through dissemination of research and the provision of resources and activities to support the education of students, researchers and the general public.

The molecular biosciences impact on many areas of science including biotechnology, agriculture, and medicine, helping to play a key role in tackling global issues such as improving lifelong health, treatment of disease, biotechnology and food security.
