Event - Scientific meeting
UK
The 30th Translation UK meeting will showcase the latest progress of the diverse UK mRNA translation field.
Event - In-person training
This two-day training course, hosted at the University of Bedfordshire’s STEM Building, aims to expose participants to the latest hardware required for protein purification and biophysical measurements. Attendees will gain hands-on experience of cell lysis using the CF1 cell disrupter from Constant Systems; protein purification using AKTA systems and Unicorn software; the analysis of protein – ligand interactions using the NanoTemper Monolith and the new multi wavelength Beckman Coulter Life Sciences Optima analytical ultracentrifuge (AUC). Short lectures will provide background theory on the techniques used.

Europe
The 24th International Conference on Cytochrome P450 (ICCP450) will be held from 30 June to 4th of July, in Bern, Switzerland in 2025 on the theme "Genetics, Structure and function". The ICCP450 will bring together scientists in the fields of Cytochrome P450 to share and discuss the latest advances in the field.
Event - Webinar
Online
Part of our dedicated Biochemistry Focus Early Career Researcher (ECR) series, this webinar will explore the use of native mass spectrometry to unravel the activity and regulation of the molecular chaperone BiP, as well as the crucial role of Ribosome Quality Control in mitigating the cytotoxic effects of chemotherapy drugs.
In this meeting we will discuss research covering all five families of small G proteins, to generate new ideas, collaborations and scientific strategies from diverse inputs. This will include the Ras family, involved in cell growth, the Rho family, which drive cytoskeletal rearrangements, the Arf and Rab families, which play a role in vesicle trafficking and Ran, which is responsible for nuclear transport.
Part of our dedicated Biochemistry Focus Early Career Researcher (ECR) series, this webinar will delve into the role of ubiquitin to explore the currently unknown TRIM functions in physiology and disease, as well as present new strategies to treat and prevent mitochondrial disorders.
Part of our dedicated Biochemistry Focus Early Career Researcher (ECR) series, this webinar will explore careers outside of the traditional academic pathway, with a focus on facility management and research funding.
Event - Online training
R for Biochemists 201 is the Biochemical Society’s second R course, building on the content of R101 for those wishing to extend and develop their knowledge of R. The course has a focus on proteomic data analysis and uses modern data analysis concepts, packages and visualisations. R for Biochemists 201 teaches participants the key concepts of tidy data, about good coding practice such as developing reproducible workflows, and how to create more complex data visualisations in R.
In this webinar, our invited speaker will present the sex inclusive research framework (SIRF) which supports the evaluation of in vivo and ex vivo research proposals from a sex inclusive research perspective, ultimately aiming to address the embedded sex bias in preclinical research.
This online course covers fundamental statistical concepts and techniques essential for biochemistry and related fields. Learn at your own pace how to analyse and interpret data, apply statistical methods, and enhance your research skills. Whether you're a student or a professional, this course provides a solid foundation in statistics to support your scientific discoveries.
The 6th UK Workshop on Membrane Proteins will focus on the function of biological membranes and the biophysical techniques available to study their components in the context of biology and biotechnology. This event will comprise lectures, workshops, and laboratory based practical sessions.
In this webinar, our invited speakers will explore innovative strategies, share success stories, and highlight resources to demonstrate how inclusivity can be fostered through outreach, mentorship, and tailored programmes.
