Join our publishing community
News, Sep 18 2025
As a Society publisher we’re proud to support the wider molecular bioscience community through not only publishing high impact research and reviews but also gifting all profits back to the Biochemical Society to fund the crucial work they undertake. We’re looking for experts in the field to join our Editorial Boards and help us continue to receive high-quality submissions and support the whole community.
Every time you publish or read articles in one of our six journals, you’re directly supporting the molecular biosciences to thrive. Our journals cover the full breadth of the field, with new collections showing the range of high-impact content published. In 2024, we achieved over 5.2 million article views and our team work tirelessly to get accepted papers out into the community.
In 2025, we were delighted to achieve the milestone of a fully Open Access (OA) publisher, offering fee-free routes to publish OA in five of our journals. This milestone allows us to disseminate work to even more of our community and remove barriers to accessing research, driving equity throughout the whole community.
Our work could not be possible without our expert, international Editorial Boards who help drive us forward, and now we’re looking for people who want to help encourage high-quality submissions and be advocates for our journals in the community. We want people who are keen to be involved in the whole publishing life-cycle and help to steer each journal to make improvements for the benefit of the molecular biosciences. Our current Editor-in-Chief of Bioscience Reports recently shared his experience in the role, including the accomplishments and skills they’ve gained.
If you want to make an impact in your community and use your expertise to drive quality submissions and improvements to our journals, please consider applying for one of the roles available. We welcome applications from around the world.
